This course brings together aspects of creative writing and illustration to explore personal storytelling through pictures. In structured sessions, learn how to generate ideas and explore themes
through playful activities and short writing exercises. Discover how to use simple and expressive watercolour techniques, and to combine them with collage and other materials. We will also explore ways of working with found images using layering and tracing techniques. There will be opportunities to work from observation and your imagination as you develop your own visual storyteling style. No experience necessary – curiosity and a love of stories are the only ingredients needed. Colette will support you on your journey whatever your starting point. Book via Highham Hall

Can't get to the Lake District for my residential?
Explore visual narrative through creative play, Crookes, S10 Exploring image making, nurture curiosity, and rediscover the importance of creative play through various activities. We will be using a range of materials of your choice from paint, drawing materials to print and collage. Suitable for anyone who would like to tell stories and explore ideas through visual means. All abilities welcome Thursday afternoons in July 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th July 1 - 4pm Small groups of 3 maximum £35 per session, £100 for all 4 sessions (space permitting) All materials, plus refreshments |
