Discovering how to make expressive and illustrative images with these two materials which work so well together. Ink and watercolours is one of the classic combinations of materials - and an absolute favourite of mine

Join me for this creative residential in the beautiful Lake District.
This course brings together aspects of creative writing and illustration to explore personal storytelling through pictures. In structured sessions, learn how to generate ideas and explore themes
through playful activities and short writing exercises. Discover how to use simple and expressive watercolour techniques, and to combine them with collage and other materials. We will also explore ways of working with found images using layering and tracing techniques. There will be opportunities to work from observation and your imagination as you develop your own visual storyteling style. No experience necessary – curiosity and a love of stories are the only ingredients needed. Colette will support you on your journey whatever your starting point. Book via Highham Hall

Costs £60 for 10 sessions 6.30pm - 9pm
Each week we get together briefly at the start to say hello and share our plans, and then we leave our laptops/ computers in the back ground while we explore our own projects. At the end of the session we can share how we’ve been getting on.
Alternatively you may wish to miss the talking bits and simply join in for the making. You can choose to join in as little or as much as you wish and you can come and go while the session is running. Plus - There will be an opportunity to become part of a Postal Sketchbook Group
