What to bring to an online art-making session -
Biro and a pencil and a rubber
Paper - good quality cartridge paper can take paint as well as drawing materials - try to avoid paper that is thin. (for guidance paper that is a weight of 140gsm or more is ideal) A4 or A3 in size In a sketchbook or loose. (Alternatively wall lining paper is a great and cheap option on a big scale -be mindful that it has a yellow fade over time)
Paint - i use watercolours, however what ever paint you enjoy using is great for you. Poster paints, acrylic, gouache.
Brushes - one good brush is all you need - personally i use a round synthetic about size 12 mostly. One that keeps it’s point which wet
Crayons - i love Bambino childrens crayons - https://www.espo.org/bambino-colouring-pencil-crayons.html Or you might prefer pencil crayons. Or water- soluable pencil crayons.
Plus any other materials you enjoy using
Quality vs freedom to play - Good quality art materials can be great - or can be intimidating if you have spent a lot of money on them. Children’s materials can feel freeing and appeal to our inner child. Try to avoid very cheap paints and crayons that have low pigment content and so aren’t fun to use. Watch out for buying more things when you don’t need them - i know how tempting this is!
